Gone are the days when smartphones were used just for calling. Today almost everything depends on the smartphone. Every company is trying to enter the smartphone market and make new phones now and then to remain in the competitive market. Today, we are comparing two smartphones to check out which is a worth buy- Vivo Xplay 5 Elite or Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxewith both having massive 6 GB RAM and Snapdragon 620 processor.
Design and Display:
Xplay 5 Elite has a metallic body with a display of 5.43 inches. The device has a pixel density of 541PPI with device resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. It weighs 168 grams which is two grams less than the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe. Vivo Xplay 5 Elite comes in two variants of gold – Champagne Gold, Rose Gold.
Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe also has a metallic body with a display of 5.7 inches, which is slightly larger than Vivo Xplay 5 Elite. Though the screen size is larger, it has fewer pixels than Vivo Xplay 5 Elite. It has a pixel density of 386 PPI with a device resolution of Full HD 1080×1920 pixels. Both the devices are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Again, both the devices have a non-removable back cover, and therefore, the SIM tray lies outside the back cover. It comes in Glacier Silver, Sand Gold variants.Micro SD slot lies on the left side of the phone unlike Vivo Xplay 5 Elite, which has no SD slot as the memory is non- expandable. Both the devices have fingerprint scanner located at the back of the phone.
None of the phones has a Physical home button. In Vivo Xplay 5 Elite, back capacitive key lies on the right side of home key whereas, in Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe, it lies on the left side of the home key.
Both the phones have a similar configuration and use 2.15 GHz Quad core processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor. Again, both the phones come with the largest RAM available for the phones till now that is 6GB. Even for the graphics, the configuration is same, and both use Adreno 530 GPU.
Both the devices run on Android Marshmallow (6.0.1). We are expecting an update for both the devices. Vivo Xplay 5 Elite has its own OS layer on top called FUNTOUCH OS whereas Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe has ASUS ZenUI on top. Both the software offer additional features to the phone.
Camera and Storage:
Vivo Xplay 5 Elite features a 16MP rear camera with LED flash supported by phase detection autofocus. This device lacks laser autofocus. It supports image resolution of 4616×3464 Pixels. Vivo Xplay 5 Elite has a front camera of 8MP.
Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe boasts a 23 MP rear camera with LED flash for shooting high-resolution photos. This device has Laser autofocus in addition to Phase Detection autofocus. Both the devices have the same aperture of 2.0 f. This phone has a larger image resolution of 5536 x 4152 Pixels, and front camera has the same resolution of 8MP like that of Vivo Xplay 5 Elite.
For storage, Vivo Xplay 5 Elite has a massive internal memory of 128GB, which is non-expandable whereas Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe has only 64 GB of internal memory,which is expandable upto 128 Gb using SD card and hybrid SIM slot.
Battery and Connectivity:
Vivo Xplay 5 Elite features a heavy 3,600 mAhLi-polymer non-removable battery whereas Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe features a non-removable 3000 mAh battery in the device. Both the devices support quick charging.
For connectivity, in Vivo Xplay 5 Elite, users will get dual nano SIM slots with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n 5 GHz. It also supports Bluetooth 4.1 and microUSB 2.0
In Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe,you get dual SIM, but with a hybrid SIM tray, which means you cannot use both the SIMs and microSD card together. This is a disadvantage of this phone compared to Vivo Xplay 5 Elite where you can use both the SIM cards. Asus Zenfone 3 is VOLTE enabled, unlike Vivo Xplay 5 Elite which only supports LTE.Connectivity options include GPS with A-GPS and Glonass, Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. This device uses Micro USB Type C and also has an additional feature of NFC. None of the phones has FM Radio.
One should carefully choose the phone depending on his/ her own requirements. Performance wise both are similar and have similar configurations. If you need more pixels in your photos, Asus Zenfone 3Deluxe is for you as it has a rear camera of 23 MP. If you want a pure dual SIM phone, you should go for Vivo Xplay 5 Elite. The only drawback is it doesn’t support a memory card, but it’s not required as it comes with a huge internal memory of 128 GB.
